Friday, August 8

Early Mincha: 6:45 p.m.

Earliest Candle Lighting: 7:00 p.m.

Regular Candle Lighting: 8:13 p.m.

Mincha: 8:20 p.m.

 

Shabbos

Shacharis: 8:45 a.m.

Nusach Sefard Minyan: 9:00 a.m.

Sof Zman Krias Shema: 9:36 a.m.

Mincha: 7:00 p.m.

 

 9th of Av, Motza’i Shabbos
Fast Begins: 8:30 p.m.

Conclusion of Shabbos: 9:15 p.m.

Ma’ariv followed by Eicha: 9:25 p.m.

 

The Fast of Tisha B’Av begins Motza’i Shabbos. It is forbidden to eat as of sunset which is 8:30 p.m. One does not display mourning publicly on Shabbos. One may bring the Tisha B’Av shoes to shul prior to Shabbos and put them on after Barchu. Alternatively, since Shabbos ends at 9:15 p.m., one may at that point say “Baruch Hamavdil Bein L’kodesh L’chol” and afterwards put on the shoes worn for Tisha B’Av. One must in any event, say the words “Baruch Hamavdil Bein L’kodesh L’chol” before driving or doing any work following Shabbos. Only the blessing “Borei Meorei Haesh” is recited Motza’i Shabbos. No other elements of Havdala are recited. Following Tisha B’Av on Sunday night, only the blessing “Boreh Pri Hagafen” and the blessing of “Hamavdil” are recited over a cup of wine before eating.

Teen Minyan for 7-12 grade girls and boys: 9:15 a.m. in the Old Beis Midrash.

Yavneh Program for 31/2-5 year olds in Portable A:  9:45 a.m. until after Mussaf.

Yavneh Program for K-2 grades in the Yavneh building:  9:45 – 10:45 a.m.

Junior Minyan for 3 – 6 grade boys and girls: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Torah Tots for 11/2-31/2 year olds in Torah Tots room in Social Hall: 10:15 a.m. until end of services.

Mommy and Me Infants up to 1 ˝ yr. olds in Torah Tots room in Social Hall: 10:15 until end of services

Meets every Shabbos and Yom Tov for evening and morning services.

During Daylight Savings time, Capitol Hill Minyan meets Friday evening at the Early Mincha time listed for BCMH. Shabbos morning Shacharis: 9:00 a.m. Services are held at 1501 – 17th Avenue – Council House lower level, West entrance

NOTE:

The Second Minyan for Mincha and Kabbalas Shabbos on Friday night has been experiencing some difficulty in securing a Minyan. Anyone who is available is encouraged to attend.

 

The new Calendars are available in the shul office. Please stop by to pick one up.

 

The Kitchen Committee and Team is reforming and would like to invite anyone interested in helping in the kitchen or working to improve the kitchen's design and operations to join up. Our first meeting will be later in August.

SAVE THE DATE: TUESDAY, AUGUST 19TH, BCMH ANNUAL PICNIC AT SBH CAMPUS

BCMH annual summer bbq with a twist!  We are co-hosting the event with SBH, EB and Shevet Achim Congregations at the SBH campus.   The BIG BBQ BASH will take place on Tuesday, August 19th (so mark your calendars now!).  The community is invited!

Cost is $12 Adults /  $10 Kids (Ages 6-12) / Kids 5 and under are free / $45 per family

Attractions: Moon Bounce, GIANT Slide, Jousting Tournament, Games for kids and Adults

Freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, side dishes, cotton candy, popcorn, dessert and drinks

PRIDE IN BCMH DAY, SUNDAY AUGUST 31, 9:00 AM – 12 NOON

Come help clean up our shul and the property, Yavneh and Portables in time for the holidays. Cleaning supplies will be provided. Lunch will be served at 12 Noon to thank the congregants for their support of our shul.
